More Rewriting?
They saw the same evidence that I did.
Yes, except for the fact it was evidence that was comissioned for sole purpose of going to war.

Bush launches counterattack against war's critics
"It is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began."
Really? And here I thought it was irresponsible for an administration to manufacture evidence and mislead Congress in order to start a pre-emptive war against a nation that was no threat to us.
And let's remember that this statement cames on Veteran's Day. A day when we are supposed to honor all those who have participated in the defense of this nation. And what better way to honor those who have served by standing in front of a group of them and using attack politics to justify why you've senselessly sent over 2,000 of their fellow service men and women to their deaths.
I saw a commerical for the TV show "Boston Legal" a while back where James Spader's character said ..."We talk about honoring the troops. How about we honor them by giving a damn when they're killed? Our kids are dying over there. In this country, the people, the media, we all chug along like nothing is wrong. We'll spend a month obsessing about Terri Schiavo but dare we show a body of a fallen soldier? The most-watched cable news station will spend an hour a night on a missing girl in Aruba but God forbid we pay any attention when kids like Pvt. Elliot are killed…"But then I suppose that 2,000+ deaths are a small price to pay to bolster your political agenda.

Pennsylvania Voters Oust School Board
Just when we thought it was becoming dangerous to be a free thinker and not have our worldview dominated by dogma and superstition, along comes a sensible group of voters who saw the black eye their community was receiving from the Christian reactionaries who sought to allow the wolf of creationism creep into their classrooms dressed as the sheep of intelligent design.
I heard on a report on NPR tonight that the new board members don't plan on immediately dismantling the throwback curriculum, but it's clear that things will change when they come to office.
It still remains to be seen what the Federal judge who heard the case will rule. Hopefully, the new board members won't have to do anything after he rules that intelligent design curriculum is a clear violation of the Establishment clause of the First Amendment.

The Captain Beefheart Radar Station
A raging symphony, delirious and illusory.
I've been aware of Captain Beefheart for many years, mostly because of his collaborations with Frank Zappa. Today a colleague at work lent me Ice Cream for Crow. I'm stunned.
Not everyone's a fan, but the artistry is inescapable ...The Witch Doctor Life
When the Witch Doctor Life
throws his silent bones
some are crowned kings
while others lose their thrones
When the Witch Doctor Life
throws his silent bones
small "O" mouths scream
and run to Mama Kangaroo
insecure pouches wherein hide
beggars and drones
and babies and bums and buzzards
Mama crouches and smiles
her old useful smile
and old ego roars - laughs yesterday's gasses
while children and angels gasp
and follow a shepherd on crutches
When the Witch Doctor Life
throws his silent bones
some flee the dream
some turn to stone
and the children sing
and the heavens ring
worn by the shepherd with the folded wings
and the bones that sing of silencePoetry? Just the lyrics alone ... sure. But when mixed with the often disonant and always groove-filled music it rises to another level. Paired with the Captain's gravel on glass voice and it's like listening to moving paintings standing still in a kaliedescopes voice streaming down an empty hallway.

Schwarzenegger Street
While I don't think that Ah-nold's brand of Republicanism is quite as repellent as the people in his neighborhood, this is pretty funny.
My faves are Rover and the Cheney Monster.
