Do you ever have absolutely nothing to say?
Well, that's me: nothing to say. Not one thing.
The new baby is a good sleeper, but she still gets up a couple of times per night. I'm not usually awake long, but apparently even those 15 or 20 minute periods of being up are taking a toll.
It's hard to stay awake at work in the afternoon. When I get home, I can't wait to get to sleep. I'm just plain old tired, man.
Combine that with the new work schedule and Internet usage rules that keep me from posting during my most alert - usually just before lunch. By the time I get home, I'm in no mood to spend more time in front of the PC, unless it's to do some eBay stuff.
I may have just written a bunch of words, but I still have nothing to say.

A timeline. It was Sunday, May 30 @ 2:00 a.m. ...
1:47 a.m.: Sami wakes with a pretty big contraction and heads off to the bathroom.
1:52 a.m.: Sami has another big contraction. Wonders wether this is it.
1:57 a.m.: Another big one has her pacing the house and timing the contractions. She has several more before ...
2:05 a.m.: I wake from Sami's pacing across our squeaky floor boards. I lay in bed for several more minutes wondering what's going on. And then ...
2:15 a.m.: The biggest one yet. Sami begins to moan. I spring from bed thinking this it. Sami and I discuss the possibility of this being it! A few more big ones, a few more moans. This is definitely IT!
2:30 a.m.: Sami calls the midwife and tells her of the morning's events. In the middle of the call another big one hits. Sami can no longer talk and hands the phone to me. The midwife and I agree it's time to get to the hospital.
2:35 a.m.: I call the next door neighbor and explain this sitch. She'll be over in a few minutes.
2:45 a.m.: The neighbor arrives and I explain sitch, telephone list, kids waking up, etc. We head to the hospital with contraction at around 3 minutes apart.
2:57 a.m.: We arrive at the emergency entrance of Allegheny General Hospital. Contractions are now less than 2 minutes apart. The guard walks up to the door. "We're having a baby," I tell him.
3:05 a.m.: Sami is wheeled into Labor & Delivery room 1202, which by chance is were Maeve was born and just a week earlier, Molly was successfully flipped from sunny side up to over easy.
3:10 a.m.: Our good friend Susan walks into the room. She will be our attending nurse. We are very pleased.
3:11 a.m.: The first heart tones are established. 140s. Perfect. Sami gets very nauseous. "She just hit 7cm," says one of our nurses.
3:14 a.m.: First check of baby's position and Sami is at 8cm. Our midwife, Lori, tells Sami during the next contraction, "Don't worry. There'll only be a few more of those. You're going to have a baby soon."
3:34 a.m.: Lori was right. After only a few more contractions, the baby crowns and then is out. "She's here, hon," I tell Sami. At 8 lbs. 1 oz. she was, indeed, here. Sami and I welcomed Molly Katherine Carroll with a few tears, some hugs and a lot of smiles.
Oh, yeah ...
11:45 a.m.: Barely eight hours post-partum, Mom, Dad, and baby arrive home in time to kick off the big celebration of Aidan's 4th birthday party. The neighbors don't believe it. They think that Sami is a Super Woman.
They don't know the half of it.
