Get a gift that you don't like or didn't want or can't even imagine what your great Aunt Tilly was thinking? Well, return that sucker and get what you really want.
In a new marketing campaign, eBay is launching its first ever "Get What You Really Wanted" week. They will be featuring a number of hot selling categories. And of course, you can sell the other junk that was tossed your way over the holiday season.

I trust everyone had a safe and happy Christmas. We did. Happy Holidays!
This bit of hole shooting cum reality check is from Herr Doctor Brown. Thanks.
As Massachusetts Governor Romney and Attorney General Reilly work diligently to prevent marriage between two people of the same sex, others of us have been busy drafting a Constitutional Amendment codifying all marriages entirely on biblical principles. After all, God wouldn't want us to pick and choose which of the Scriptures we elevate to civil law and which we choose to ignore:
Draft of a Constitutional Amendment to DefendBiblical Marriage:
* Marriage in Massachusetts shall consist of a union between one man and one or more women. (Gen 29:17-28; II Sam 3:2-5.)
* Marriage shall not impede a man's right to take concubines inaddition to his wife or wives. (II Sam 5:13; I Kings 11:3; II Chron 11:21)
* A marriage shall be considered valid only if the wife is a virgin. If the wife is not a virgin, she shall be executed. (Deut 22:13-21) (This is where Governor Romney's resurrection of the Death Penalty will come in handy.)
* Marriage of a believer and a non-believer shall be forbidden. (Gen 24:3; Num 25:1-9; Ezra 9:12; Neh 10:30)
* Since marriage is for life, neither the Constitution nor any state law of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts shall permit divorce. (Deut 22:19; Mark 10:9-12)
* If a married man dies without children, his brother must marry the widow. If the brother refuses to marry the widow, or deliberately doesnot give her children, he shall pay a fine of one shoe and be otherwise punished in a manner to be determined by law. (Gen. 38:6-10; Deut 25:5-10)
* In lieu of marriage (if there are no acceptable men to be found), a woman shall get her father drunk and have sex with him. (Gen 19:31-36)
I hope this helps to clarify the finer details of the Government's righteous struggle against the infidels and heathens among us.

Yahoo! News - Record Industry May Not Subpoena Providers
Yes, that's right. The RIAA must actually show cause to subpeona records of ISPs. This came as quite a shock to the suited thugs out there in L.A.
And of course, they still don't get it. Do you think that RIAA Cary Sherman was contrite about the loss or even apologetic for the RIAAs draconian use of the courts to prop up his industry's failing business model. No. He says this, "unfortunately means we can no longer notify illegal file sharers before we file lawsuits against them to offer the opportunity to settle outside of litigation."
Full steam ahead there Cary. There's a special circle of hell waiting you and your pusillanimous cohorts.

Much like yesterday's intrepid reenactors, I fear my burgeoning music career will never leave the ground.
Neither of my two bands are going very far very fast. One band has seen a succession of talentless hacks and has-beens who say they are singers only to open their mouths and let fly a torrent of squawks and grunts as to silence the Banshee.
The other band has had three gigs canceled: two becaue we weren't ready and one because of last Sunday's snow storm. Ah, well. The trials and tribulations of being a musician. Something tells me these things are some of the reasons that I gave up the idea of being a rock star in the first place.
I do love to play, though. And as the anniversary of the world's most awesome Christmas present is just a week away, once again I say 'Thank You!' to my loving wife. Yeah, thanks a bunch! It's your fault that I'm going through all this crap again! ;-)

As an addendum to my last post, I've lost two emails from friends in the last week. The most likely cause is my over-active delete button. I get so much spam per day that I often hold down the delete key for seconds at a time.
It would seem that I accidentally deleted the emails while deleting hundreds of unsolicited spam messages.
If you're a spammer, you suck!

Yahoo! News - Congress Approves Anti-Spam Legislation
Given the slew of tricks that spammers have and will develop, I have little confidence for this bill to make any major changes in the unethical way that spammers do business. I do, however, have great hope that it makes a significant change. Spam presents one of the major hurdles in the true creation of the New Economy. The deluge of spam has the potential of destroying all legitimate online marketing activities.
Many email users are ignoring all messages that don't come from those closest to them, even at the expense of ignoring messages from friendly advertisers that used permission marketing methods to get them as contacts or customers. Marketers can't afford that to continue.
Spam is a scourge every bit as bad, if not worse, than its off-line counter parts junkmail and telemarketing -- both of which have harsh penalties for violating laws intended to protect individuals from abuse.
As an Internet professional whose clients depend upon ethical email marketing and as a domain owner who gets 180+ spam messages daily, I hope the new legislation is very successful indeed!
