And now for the officially unveiling of the best Christmas present I've ever received in my entire life: A 6 piece Tama Starclassic Performer drum kit in natural birch with Zildjian A cymbals and Iron Cobra bass pedals. All courtesy of my loving wife with contributions from many loving family members.
Drum roll please ...

If only my digital camera had better resolution so that you could see the real beauty of this baby!
Thank you, Sami!

The Gashlycrumb Tinies by Edward Gorey
Somehow or other I lost this very prized book. I must've lent it or lost it in my enumerous moves. Nevermind that, though, because the Tinies are now on line. Huzzah!

Ever been inspired? Has anything ever made you completely change the way you were doing things? You know. You just couldn't sit by and do what you were doing anymore -- something had to change. I'm looking for that kind of inspiration right now.
Often I'm momentarily inspired by good quotes. My favorite right now is from President Calvin Coolidge: "Nothing in the world can take the place of persistence. Nothing is more common than unsuccessful men with talent." It's my screensaver. Yeah, cheesey. I know. But unless you can do better, it's all I've got right now.
On an inspirational side note, Robert McKee's Story is quite simply the best book about storytelling I've ever read. Screenwriter or not, any storyteller will be better off having read this book. Get it. Read it. Love it.
