A Semiotic Look at Mooninites Over Massachusetts
Fear and Loathing in the Bay State
Being possessed of a liberal arts education, I eat this stuff up. Admittedly, some of it is blabber - I still have trouble with some aspects of feminist and psychoanalytic film theory. But I'm all about semiotics! (wow, that was a strange sentence.)
In this article, Dion Dennis, takes a look at the hysteria in Boston surrounding the so-called bomb scare, nee marketing stunt.
In it, he compares the recent hysteria with a well-known one from the Bay Colony's history, The Salem Witch Trials and throws in a bit of generational warfare that shows that Boomers learned nothing from the 60s.
It's not light reading so go slow :-)0 Comments | Link to this post   posted by Teddy 12:49 PM
