Pennsylvania Voters Oust School Board
Just when we thought it was becoming dangerous to be a free thinker and not have our worldview dominated by dogma and superstition, along comes a sensible group of voters who saw the black eye their community was receiving from the Christian reactionaries who sought to allow the wolf of creationism creep into their classrooms dressed as the sheep of intelligent design.
I heard on a report on NPR tonight that the new board members don't plan on immediately dismantling the throwback curriculum, but it's clear that things will change when they come to office.
It still remains to be seen what the Federal judge who heard the case will rule. Hopefully, the new board members won't have to do anything after he rules that intelligent design curriculum is a clear violation of the Establishment clause of the First Amendment.
