Bush launches counterattack against war's critics
"It is deeply irresponsible to rewrite the history of how that war began."
Really? And here I thought it was irresponsible for an administration to manufacture evidence and mislead Congress in order to start a pre-emptive war against a nation that was no threat to us.
And let's remember that this statement cames on Veteran's Day. A day when we are supposed to honor all those who have participated in the defense of this nation. And what better way to honor those who have served by standing in front of a group of them and using attack politics to justify why you've senselessly sent over 2,000 of their fellow service men and women to their deaths.
I saw a commerical for the TV show "Boston Legal" a while back where James Spader's character said ..."We talk about honoring the troops. How about we honor them by giving a damn when they're killed? Our kids are dying over there. In this country, the people, the media, we all chug along like nothing is wrong. We'll spend a month obsessing about Terri Schiavo but dare we show a body of a fallen soldier? The most-watched cable news station will spend an hour a night on a missing girl in Aruba but God forbid we pay any attention when kids like Pvt. Elliot are killed…"But then I suppose that 2,000+ deaths are a small price to pay to bolster your political agenda.
