So not only did Stars Wars Episdode III: Revenge of the Sith smash domestic box office records with $158 million over its first 4 days, it also smashed international records with well over $300 million worldwide. This crushes the previous record of $250 million from LOTR Return of the King (sorry, Mr. Green).
And if that wasn't enough, NPR reports that the nation's employers lost somewhere in the neighborhood of $627 million in productivity from their workers as a result of Star Wars related activities last Wed. and Thurs.
I haven't seen it yet. Have you?
