Jilted groom says he remains committed
I'm not sure who the bigger nutbag is here. Him or her? Let's examine. Shall we?
Her
She got cold feet. Not that bad. She certainly isn't alone there. Any thinking person should reflect long and hard before making a life-altering decision to marry someone. She may, however, be the only person to avoid the alter by faking a kidnapping and starting a national wild goose chase. This is not m.o. of a rational, emotionally mature individual.
What is the thought process here? "I don't know if John is the right one. Sure the sex is great, especially when we play Head Mistress and Naughty Schoolboy, but I'm really not sure. What should I do? I know! I'll disappear shortly before the wedding and when I realize how big of an ass I am, I'll call for help from a pay phone and say that I was kidnapped and taken against my will to Albequerque, NM. Yeah! That's what I'll do. This is gonna be great!"
Him
John is a committed and loyal young man who stands by his misguided fiancee with a heartfelt "Haven't we all made mistakes?" Of course we all must answer yes to this logical posit. Wasn't it Jesus who said, "Let he among you who is without sin cast the first stone."? Well, wasn't it?
I would bet, however, that few of us ever wanted to get away from someone so badly that they faked their own kidnapping.
What's the thought process here? "Jennifer sure is a great girl. Maybe a little unpredictable, but great. I mean the sex ... well, it's fantastic, especially when she let's me watch. She sure is great!"
Conclusion
They're both frickin' nuts. If he still wants her, then good luck to him. He's going to need it. If she thinks, despite her cross country sojourn, that saying "I do" is the right call then I hope he knows a good attorney.
