An old man talking to a young man in line at Sbarro's on Smithfield street:
Old Man: Are you a dego too?
Young Man: Excuse me?
Old Man: Are you a dego too? Like them.(pointing to the men with the Italian accents working the counter)
Young Man: No, I'm not.
Old Man: You're Greek then. They look alike, you know? The Greeks and the degos. They look alike.
Young Man: No.
Old Man: You know who you can't tell? The Chinese and Japanese. You can't tell them apart.
Young Man: Yeah, well ... I guess everyone looks alike a little.
Old Man: No. Just the Chinese and the Japanese. Can't tell 'em apart.
Young Man: I'm not one of them.
Old Man: Ah. (pause) You're European.
Young Man: No.
Old Man: I'm mean you're a white man.
Young Man: No.
Old Man: You're a white man. I can tell.
Young Man: I'm half Mexican.
Old Man: They're Indian, you know?
Young Man: Some of them.
Old Man: No, they're Indian. All of 'em.
Young Man: Yes, some of them are Indian. Some of them are Spanish.
Old Man: No, they're Aztecs. They fought a war with the Spanish. And the Spanish beat them and took all of their gold. Cortez, you know!
Young Man: Yes.
Old Man: Well, I've got to go. (Pointing back to the pizza guys.) They're degos for sure!
